I'm in love...

with this photo! What type of species of tree is this you ask? Well it is a Arbolnus dressalia or a Flowering Dress Tree. :)

This photo makes me smile because it mixes my love of trees with my love of clothes. I found out this week that I have been accepted to take the ISA Arborist exam in July to become a certified Arborist. I will be doing a lot of studying. I have started the Rock & Roll wedding dress, but I haven't made much progress (see below) because I have been pre-occupied with other interests.

That's all I'm going to say...

Rock & Roll Wedding

Last week being the selfish person I am I was thinking do I have any friends that will get married soon so that I can make another dress. Well I got my wish. A few days later I was invited by my good friend Kelly, to be her date at her co-workers wedding. Thanks Kelly! I'm glad you thought of me. It happens to be in San Diego and at the Hard Rock Hotel.

I think this dress will be perfect for a Rock & Roll wedding. I love the back. The tie at the top and the cut out. I am going to use the colorful geometric print. I think the dress will be fun and sexy. Yay no flower print. Do I have time to make it? The wedding is in 4 weeks, but I am super busy. I really really really want to make it. I am going to try, but if I don't have time I will just wear one of my other dresses.

What would go great with this dress though is some Rock & Roll jewelry. Yet again I am in luck. My friend Svetlana has just created her own line of Rock & Roll jewelry called Groupie. She designs and creates jewelry and for some of it she uses her husbands old guitar picks. Check her stuff out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sunnychik. By the way I will be checking out her husbands new band The Barrel Riders this week! I am very excited to be a groupie :)

Everythings in Bloom

Wildflowers are blooming every where and so are my new bloomers. My bloomers are basically going to be pajama shorts. I have been working on my skirt project, which is more than half way done, but I put it on hold today when I saw this bloomers pattern. I saw it on-line, I downloaded it for free and immediately started sewing. They took only a few hours and are sooooooooo cute! Usually I am not so cutsie bootsie, girlie swirlie, but these are just adorable (Yeah I am throwing up in my mouth as I write these words). If you decide to make them don't worry, just follow the instructions. At one point I thought they were too big and the next I thought they would be too small, but at last they are perfect. I'm already thinking of all the possibilities for making different one's. This project only takes 1 yard of fabric, some ribbon and elastic. I added a button just for the heck of it. Total price for my bloomers is $4.00.

If you have a chance to go wildflower hunting, go before the blooms are gone!
